President Trump & Pro-life Republicans Secure Agreement to Protect Trump’s Historic Pro-life Wins
Washington, D.C. – In response to the U.S. Senate’s passage of a bipartisan budget agreement reached by congressional leaders and the Trump administration, the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) released the following statement:
“The passage of President Trump’s budget after securing an agreement to protect pro-life policies is a major victory for life,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “This agreement blocks Democrats’ attempts at repealing lifesaving policies and forcing taxpayers to fund abortion. It preserves the Hyde Amendment and ensures that President Trump’s Protect Life Rule can take effect so that Title X tax dollars will no longer be funneled to abortion businesses like Planned Parenthood. Equally important, Democratic Leaders Pelosi and Schumer have agreed to ensure subsequent appropriations bills are free of anti-life poison pills that would block conscience protections, allow taxpayer funding for experiments involving the body parts of aborted babies, fund the abortion industry overseas using taxpayer dollars, or fund abortion on demand in the District of Columbia. We are so grateful to President Trump for his leadership, as well as Leader McCarthy, Leader McConnell, and Senator Daines for their tireless efforts to protect historic pro-life wins. We urge Republicans to be vigilant in holding Speaker Pelosi accountable to this groundbreaking deal.”
