President Trump and the Pro-life Senate Majority Transform the Courts, Underscoring the Stakes of the 2020 Elections
Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) celebrated the U.S. Senate’s confirmation of Judge Cory Wilson to serve on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. He currently serves as a judge for the Mississippi Court of Appeals. With Wilson’s confirmation, President Trump has filled all appeals court vacancies since the beginning of his presidency, and has filled 200 total federal judicial vacancies.
“President Trump, Leader McConnell, and Judiciary Chairman Lindsey Graham have delivered an historic victory with the confirmation of 200 judges in the president’s first term, and with all appellate-level vacancies now filled,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “It is critical that we re-elect President Trump so he can continue working with the pro-life Senate majority to confirm judges who respect the Constitution and the inalienable right to life. In contrast, Joe Biden has promised to nominate judges who will rubber-stamp his extreme abortion agenda. SBA List is working to reach four million voters – including pro-life Democrats and Independents – to impress upon them the life-or-death stakes of this election.”
“We congratulate Judge Cory Wilson, whose impressive credentials leave no doubt that he will serve justly with great expertise on the 5th Circuit.”
Judge Cory Wilson’s diverse legal background includes experience serving the Mississippi legislature and executive branch. A graduate of Yale Law School, Wilson has taught classes as an adjunct law professor. In addition, he has served as president of the Federal Bar Association’s Mississippi Chapter, and on the Character and Fitness Review Board for the Mississippi Bar. Judge Wilson was also a fellow in the George W. Bush administration.
SBA List is a network of more than 837,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
