Washington, D.C.Today Susan B. Anthony List’s Candidate Fund PAC announced its endorsement of Amanda Adkins (R) for Congress in Kansas’ 3rd District.

“Amanda Adkins has spent her career as a leading voice for families and children and we are proud to back her for Congress,” said Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s vice president of government affairs. “Amanda is committed to promoting life and the dignity of every person, born and unborn. In contrast, her Democratic opponent Sharice Davids is an extremist who continually sides with the radical abortion lobby and is far out of step with America’s heartland. Davids was Kansas’ only sponsor of legislation to enshrine abortion on demand until birth in the law – she even refuses to support medical care for babies who survive failed abortions. As Kansans fight to protect unborn children and their mothers and have their values reflected in state law, they deserve leaders in Congress who will fight for them too. Amanda will bring a mother’s compassion, grit and common sense to Washington and we urge voters to support her in the primary.”

Adkins worked for 15 years as an executive at Cerner Corporation before running for Congress and has a background in health care and information technology. From 2009-2013 she served as chair of the Kansas GOP. She co-founded the Dwight D. Eisenhower Excellence in Public Service Series to help prepare Republican women to seek greater involvement in leadership, government, and politics. She also served as chair of the Kansas Children’s Cabinet and founded the Systems of Care Initiative, which helps business leaders invest in early learning organizations.

Adkins and her husband, Jason, have two children and live in Overland Park, Kansas.

SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
