On Election Eve McCaskill tried to present herself as a moderate on abortion, but her record proves otherwise
Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its field team of 117 canvassers has visited more than 310,000 Missouri voters ahead of Election Day to elect pro-life Josh Hawley and defeat incumbent Senator Claire McCaskill. Additionally, SBA List held eight in-state media events, reached 448,144 voters through persuasive voter contact mail and digital ads, made 90,399 live voter calls, and raised $34,392 in bundled contributions for Hawley’s campaign.
“Throughout the campaign Senator McCaskill has tried to present herself as a moderate. Last night, she even said she doesn’t think federal funding should be used for abortion. But Sen. McCaskill’s record tells another story. She votes in lock step with the abortion lobby to keep taxpayers paying for abortion, and to stop even the most modest pro-life legislation to protect babies after five months,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Since July of 2017, SBA List’s field team has visited more than 310,000 Missouri voters who don’t consistently get to the polls, educating them about Senator McCaskill’s repeated betrayals, including her votes to block Justice Brett Kavanaugh, send taxpayer dollars to abortion giant Planned Parenthood, and keep barbaric late-term abortions legal. The life issue will be a decisive issue in this contest. Missourians deserve better than a senator who sides with the radical abortion lobby over her own constituents. McCaskill is out of step and must go.”
SBA List’s field team of more than 1,100 canvassers visited 2.7 million voters this election cycle across the battleground states of Missouri, North Dakota, Indiana, Montana, Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, Arizona, and Tennessee. SBA List and Women Speak Out PAC undertook a six-figure independent expenditure campaign to mobilize pro-life voters across Missouri to support Josh Hawley. SBA List held three press tours in Missouri to urge Sen. McCaskill to vote to confirm each of President Trump’s Supreme Court nominees, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh, and to announce the field program.
