Washington, D.C. – Today the White House announced President Trump’s selection of judges Amy Barrett, Brett Kavanaugh, Kevin Newsom, Britt Grant, and Patrick Wyrick to be on his “short list” of candidates to fill future Supreme Court vacancies.

The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) praised the selection of judges in a statement:

“These five judges are exceptionally qualified and any one of them would make an outstanding Supreme Court justice,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “President Trump set a high standard with Justice Neil Gorsuch and continues to impress with his excellent list of nominees for future vacancies. President Trump continues to keep his promise to nominate only judges who are loyal to the Constitution, not to an activist pro-abortion agenda.”

Barrett was recently confirmed to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals; Kavanaugh currently serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia; Newsom serves on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; Grant is a Georgia Supreme Court Justice; and Wyrick is an Oklahoma Supreme Court Justice.

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, knocking on more than 1.1 million doors in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women.  The SBA List is a network of more than 600,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
