Washington, D.C. –  Today the Missouri health department rejected the license renewal of the state’s last abortion facility, Planned Parenthood of St. Louis, a facility with an extensive history of health and safety violations. Previously Missouri Circuit Court Judge Michael Stelzer had blocked the state health department from taking action while Planned Parenthood sued.

The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) released the following statement in response:

“We are encouraged to see the Missouri health department take decisive action to safeguard the health and safety of women and children,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The facility in question has an appalling track record of botched abortions and other violations that prove they are incapable of policing themselves. Planned Parenthood does not deserve special treatment and the health and safety of women should never come second to the abortion industry’s bottom line. We thank Governor Parson and the state health department for their efforts to hold abortion businesses accountable for harming women.”

SBA List is a network of more than 787,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
