Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Young Kim for U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 39th district. The primary election will take place on June 5, 2018.
“As an organization with a special mission to promote strong, pro-life woman leaders, we at SBA List are pleased to endorse Young Kim,” said former congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “As a member of the California Assembly, she stood up to the extreme abortion lobby’s efforts to force pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise for abortion. She will be a dedicated public servant for California taxpayers, not the abortion industry. We encourage voters to support her in the primary and look forward to seeing her advance one step closer to Washington.”
Young Kim accepted the endorsement saying:
“I am grateful to be endorsed by Susan B. Anthony List. The fundamental right to life is vitally important and I intend to stand up for it as a congresswoman.”
Young Kim is an immigrant to the United States and the first Korean-American Republican woman to serve in the California State Assembly, where she had a strong pro-life voting record. Prior to her service in the Assembly, Kim worked for retiring Congressman Ed Royce, who has endorsed her in this race. Young Kim is a community leader, businesswoman and public servant. She and her husband Charles have four children.
Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, visiting more than 1.1 million homes in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. SBA List is a network of more than 630,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
