Washington, D.C. –  Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Representative John Culberson for re-election in Texas’ 7th Congressional District.

“Congressman John Culberson has been a steadfast pro-life ally for years, establishing a 100 percent pro-life record,” said former congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “As a leading pro-life advocate, Rep. Culberson consistently stands up for vulnerable children and their mothers, and he has fought tirelessly to prevent tax dollars from being used to fund abortion. His opponent is backed by the radical pro-abortion group EMILY’s List and is dramatically out of step with the people of Texas. We are proud to endorse Rep. Culberson and urge pro-life voters to send him to Washington for another term.”

Rep. Culberson has represented the 7th Congressional District since 2001. In 1987, while in law school, he was elected to the Texas House of Representatives and became minority whip during his last term in 1999. Culberson is a co-sponsor of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the Prenatal Nondiscrimination Act (PRENDA), the No Taxpayer Funding of Abortion Act, and the Conscience Protection Act. A fifth-generation Texan, Congressman Culberson has been married to his wife, Belinda, for nearly 30 years. They have one college-aged daughter.

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, visiting more than 1.1 million homes in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. SBA List is a network of more than 630,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
