Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life organization Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Representative Ann Wagner, who is running for re-election in Missouri’s 2nd congressional district.
“Ann Wagner is a tremendous advocate for unborn babies and their mothers,” said SBA List Vice President for Government Affairs, former U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave. “She is a vocal supporter of the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, compassionate and popular legislation that would limit abortions after five months, and has led the charge to prevent Americans from being forced to fund abortion on-demand. Ann’s opponent has a 100 percent pro-abortion record and even voted against common sense legislation requiring health and safety inspections for abortion facilities. Ann Wagner will stand up to the abortion lobby and fight for the conscience rights of taxpayers in Missouri and nationwide. We are proud to endorse Congresswoman Wagner’s reelection bid and look forward to her victory in November.”
Representative Wagner welcomed the endorsement saying, “I am honored to receive the endorsement of Susan B. Anthony List, an organization committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our society. Standing up for life is part of the fabric of who I am, and I will continue speaking out in defense of the unborn.”
Ann Wagner brings to Congress over 25 years of experience in the private sector, local grassroots organization and service to our country. She is a mother of three, hails from Ballwin, MO and is currently serving her second term in the U.S. House of Representatives where she has been an outspoken supporter of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Additionally, she co-sponsored legislation to prevent taxpayer funds from going to abortion providers or being used to promote abortion in schools. She has also authored the SAVE Act, which was signed into law in 2015 and increases the penalties for criminals who profit from sexual exploitation of innocent children.
Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office. The SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 465,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
