Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Candius Stearns for U.S. House of Representatives in Michigan’s ninth district. Stearns is running for the seat being vacated by Rep. Sander Levin. The primary will take place on August 7, 2018.
“Susan B. Anthony List is proud to support pro-life leader Candius Stearns in her race for Congress,” said former congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “Candius will be a breath of fresh air in the ninth district, which has endured more than three decades of abortion extremism under her predecessor. Candius will fight to protect unborn children and their mothers and get Michigan taxpayers out of the abortion business. We encourage pro-life voters to get out to the polls and support her.”
Stearns accepted the endorsement saying:
“I greatly appreciate Susan B. Anthony List’s endorsement. The pro-life voters of Michigan deserve to have their voice heard in Washington. I wholeheartedly support policies that protect unborn children and their mothers and am committed to working with President Trump to advance a pro-life agenda.”
Candius Stearns is a businesswoman with more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She has served as an executive committee member and a treasurer for the Macomb County GOP. Candius is a wife and mother of two boys. Her family is active in their local Orthodox Church, where Candius is a 7th grade Catechism teacher. She has a passion for several charities that assist veterans and children in need.
