Tragic Injustice as Extreme Abortion Agenda Claims Two Victims

Washington, D.C. – In response to news that “Jane Doe,” a seventeen-year-old undocumented immigrant from Central America, has undergone an abortion, the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) released the following statement:

“We are deeply saddened to learn that Jane Doe’s child has been aborted,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Our thoughts are foremost with the young girl, who has now been saddled with the death of her child before she has even reached her eighteenth birthday – a terrible burden for anyone to carry, much less at such a tender age and so far from home. We ask that the pro-life community and all compassionate Americans keep her and her child in their prayers.

“We unequivocally reject abortion advocates’ narrative that justice has been done in this case. Instead the extreme agenda of the abortion lobby and the ACLU has claimed two victims and made a cruel mockery of the ‘American dream.’ We will continue to oppose all efforts to impose a so-called constitutional right to abortion and turn the United States into a sanctuary nation for abortion.”

SBA List previously praised the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and pro-life advocates in Texas for asserting that abortion is not health care.

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, knocking on more than 1.1 million doors in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women.  The SBA List is a network of more than 600,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
