Pro-life Canvassers Visited 30,000 Tennessee Voters to Expose Bredesen’s Extremism on Abortion
Washington, D.C. – Tonight the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) celebrated as its endorsed candidate Congressman Marsha Blackburn defeated Phil Bredesen in the race for U.S. Senate in Tennessee. The group’s field team of 50 canvassers visited 30,000 Tennessee voters to expose Bredesen’s record on abortion. Additionally, SBA List reached 169,984 voters through digital ads and raised $38,412 in bundled contributions for Blackburn’s campaign.
“Phil Bredesen’s pro-abortion record is dramatically out of step with the people he sought to represent – and tonight Tennessee voters delivered victory for a tried-and-true pro-life hero, Congressman Marsha Blackburn,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “SBA List’s field team spent months on the ground in battlegrounds like Tennessee reaching out to voters who don’t always get to the polls, working to educate them about the candidates’ records and the importance of this election for unborn children and their mothers. The contrast between Bredesen, who supports taxpayer funding for abortion giant Planned Parenthood, and Marsha Blackburn, who has consistently and courageously taken on the abortion lobby, could not have been clearer. SBA List congratulates Congressman Blackburn and all Tennesseans, who are sending a senator to Washington who truly reflects their pro-life values.”
Last week SBA List’s Facebook ad campaign supporting Marsha Blackburn was suspended. After pro-life outrage, Facebook apologized and said the ad should never have been taken down.
SBA List’s field team of more than 1,100 canvassers visited 2.7 million voters this election cycle across the battleground states of Tennessee, Arizona, North Dakota, Indiana, Missouri, Montana, Florida, Ohio, and West Virginia.
