Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) celebrated as its endorsed candidate Carol Miller, a member of SBA List’s National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus, won her primary for U.S. House of Representatives in West Virginia’s third congressional district. The general election will take place on November 6, 2018.
“We congratulate Carol Miller, an active member of our National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus, on her primary win,” said former U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “Carol has spent her time in the West Virginia House of Delegates fighting to prevent exploitation of young women and girls by the abortion industry. She is a strong pro-life leader who will serve all Mountaineers, born and unborn, and take no nonsense from the abortion lobby. We are encouraged to see her advance one step closer to Washington.”
Miller has served in the West Virginia House of Delegates since 2007 and in 2015 was named assistant majority leader. In 2016 she became the first Republican woman to preside over the House of Delegates. She has co-sponsored legislation to protect minor girls from being taken for abortions without their parents’ knowledge. She is an active member of her community as a small business owner and farmer. She and her husband have two children and four grandchildren.
Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, knocking on more than 1.1 million doors in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 630,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
