Musgrave: Cheney Will Stand Up to Abortion Lobby
Washington, D.C. – Tonight the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) declared victory when Liz Cheney won her primary in Wyoming’s at-large Congressional district.
“Liz Cheney is unwavering in her commitment to unborn children and their mothers,” said former U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List Vice President of Government Affairs. “Liz defeated Leland Christensen, who cast the deciding vote against legislation that would have protected a woman’s right to be fully informed about her developing baby. Liz will stand up to the abortion lobby and lead the fight to defund Planned Parenthood. We are encouraged by Liz’s primary win tonight and look forward to her joining the Pro-life Women’s Caucus following a victory in November.”
Cheney and her husband live in Wilson, Wyoming with their five children. Cheney is an attorney, Fox News contributor, and co-founder of the Alliance for a Strong America. She has also served in the U.S. State Department.
Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office. The SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. The SBA List is a network of more than 465,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
