Coach Tommy Tuberville Will Stand with Majority of Americans – Including Democrats, Independents, & Self-Described Pro-choice – Who Support Commonsense Limits on Abortion

Washington, D.C. – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund PAC celebrated Coach Tommy Tuberville’s primary win in the race to defeat Alabama Senator Doug Jones (D).

SBA List Candidate Fund PAC President Marjorie Dannenfelser commented:

“We congratulate Coach Tuberville on his primary win. He stands in stark contrast to Senator Doug Jones, who has proven himself to be an abortion extremist. Jones approaches the life issue with flippancy and carelessness. We need a strong leader in the Senate to represent the pro-life people of Alabama, not Doug Jones. Now more than ever, it is crucial to re-elect President Trump and a pro-life Senate majority that will serve as a stronghold to defend the innocent unborn, and promote upstanding, constitutionalist judges who will do the same. This election is a matter of life and death, and we are dedicated to defeating extremists like Doug Jones who have caved to Pelosi Democrats and the abortion lobby.”

In February of this year, when asked about his stance on late term abortions performed after the point at which science has proven unborn children feel pain, Senator Jones laughed and called the issue “stupid.”

Senator Jones has voted against a motion to proceed to the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act of 2019 (S. 109), legislation that establishes a permanent, government-wide prohibition on federal funding for abortion, prohibits federal subsidies in the form of Obamacare tax credits for health plans that include abortion, and strengthens disclosure requirements for plans that include abortion. Jones has received a D grade on SBA List’s National Pro-life Scorecard.
