Washington, D.C.Today Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsed Karen Handel for U.S. House of Representatives as Handel announced her candidacy in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District in the 2020 election. The seat is currently held by pro-abortion Democrat Rep. Lucy McBath.

“We are proud to endorse Karen Handel, a courageous champion of unborn children and their mothers,” said SBA List president Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Strong pro-life, pro-woman leaders like Karen are needed in Congress more than ever as the Democratic Party reveals its support for abortion on demand through birth and even infanticide – an extreme agenda that is dramatically out of step with Georgia and the majority of America. Karen has invaluable experience standing up to the abortion lobby led by Planned Parenthood and exposing their lies. Previously in Congress, she co-sponsored legislation to protect babies who survive abortions and stop cruel late-term abortions after five months of pregnancy. We are encouraged to see Karen enter this race and urge pro-life voters to support her.”

Karen Handel was elected to Congress in 2017, defeating Planned Parenthood-backed Democrat Jon Ossoff in a special election. She co-sponsored the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, and the Conscience Protection Act of 2017. Previously she was elected Georgia’s first female secretary of state after serving as deputy chief of staff to Governor Sonny Perdue. She is the former vice president of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the author of the book Planned Bullyhood: The Truth Behind the Headlines about the Planned Parenthood Funding Battle with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Handel resigned from her position as Susan G. Komen Foundation’s senior vice president of public policy after the organization reversed its decision to end grants to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood is America’s largest abortion business, does not provide mammograms, and is not a significant provider of medical care in the United States.

SBA List is a network of more than 700,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
