Washington, D.C. – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund announced its endorsement of Mike DeWine and Jon Husted for governor and lieutenant governor of Ohio.
“Mike DeWine is a longtime pro-life advocate who is committed to building a strong culture of life in Ohio,” said former congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “Mike will fight to stop taxpayer funding of the abortion industry and protect vulnerable unborn children and their mothers. Jon Husted is also a champion of life with a powerful, personal testimony of being adopted. In his time at the statehouse, Jon led the effort to make adoption easier and stop funding abortions with taxpayer dollars. In contrast, Richard Cordray is an extremist backed by Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion business, and is dramatically out of step with Ohio values. Susan B. Mike DeWine has served as Ohio’s attorney general since 2011. He is a former state legislator and has represented Ohio in both houses of Congress. Mike is a father of eight. He and his wife Fran have been married for 51 years.
Jon Husted was elected Ohio’s secretary of state in 2010. Previously he served in both houses of the Ohio legislature and was Speaker of the House. Jon started his life in a foster home and was adopted by his loving parents, Jim and Judy. He is the oldest of three children and was raised in Northwest Ohio’s Williams County. He and his wife Tina have three children.
