SBA List Canvassers Have Visited One Million+ Battleground State Homes to Expose Incumbent Senators’ Abortion Extremism, Will Expand to ND

Washington, D.C.  – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) tonight congratulated Congressman Kevin Cramer on winning the Republican primary for U.S. Senate in North Dakota. Cramer will face Senator Heidi Heitkamp in the general election.

“We congratulate Rep. Cramer on his victory and are encouraged that a strong pro-life candidate will take on Senator Heitkamp this November,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Heitkamp is an extremist who supports abortion on demand up to the moment of birth, a position that is dramatically out of step with her constituents. She even voted to block popular legislation to limit late-term abortion after five months of pregnancy – then she and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer celebrated with a high-five.

“SBA List’s field team has spent months on the ground in key battleground states, visiting voters at their homes, educating them about their senator’s extremism and the importance of this election for unborn children and their mothers. We will be active in North Dakota through Election Day, reaching out to pro-life voters who don’t always get to the polls, as well as persuadable Democrats, Independents, and Hispanic voters. North Dakotans deserve better, and Heitkamp will be held accountable at the ballot box.”

SBA List’s field team of more than 400 pro-life canvassers has visited more than one million homes in the battleground states of Ohio, Indiana, Florida, and Missouri and is expanding to North Dakota and West Virginia  as part of a historic effort to educate and mobilize voters for the 2018 midterm election. SBA List canvassers are on track to reach two million homes by Election Day.

SBA List previously launched heitkamptooextreme.com and a hard-hitting digital ad campaign to expose Sen. Heitkamp’s extremist views on abortion immediately following her vote against the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (“Micah’s Law”), which would protect unborn children from late-term abortion after five months of pregnancy.

SBA List polling found that 56 percent of North Dakota voters support the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act and 61 percent said they would be less likely to support Senator Heitkamp if she voted to allow late-term abortion.

Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, visiting more than 1.1 million homes in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women. SBA List is a network of more than 630,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
