National Pro-life Group Joins with Phoenix Locals to Expose Planned Parenthood’s Abortion-Centered Business
Phoenix, AZ ─ On Thursday, February 16, 2012 the Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List), a national pro-life organization, will join Arizona pro-life leaders at two press conference outside Planned Parenthood abortion clinics in Glendale and Tucson to call for the passage of Whole Woman’s Health Funding Priority Act of Arizona that will defund America’s largest abortion provider in the state. The “Women Speak Out: Defund Planned Parenthood” press conferences will be led by former Congresswoman and SBA List Vice President of Government Affairs, Marilyn Musgrave and will include local pro-life leaders.

“Planned Parenthood is a profit-driven, abortion-centered business and no friend of women and young girls,” said Rep. Marilyn Musgrave. “Across the country pro-life American taxpayers are standing up to say: we will no longer foot the bill for America’s largest abortion provider at the expense of authentic healthcare for women. We call on Congress and the Arizona state legislature to defund Planned Parenthood of all taxpayer dollars immediately.”
The press conferences come a day after Chuck Donovan, President of the SBA List’s education and research arm, the Charlotte Lozier Institute, will testify before the Arizona state legislature in favor of the Whole Woman’s Health Funding Priority Act (HB 2800). The bill is based on model legislation developed by the SBA List and the Alliance Defense Fund, which prioritizes family planning funds away from abortion-centered businesses like Planned Parenthood to groups that better serve women.
Arizona Right to Life, Center for Arizona Policy, East Valley Pro-Life Alliance, 40 Days for Life, Silent No More Awareness Campaign, American Life League of Arizona, and Students for Life of America are also co-sponsoring Thursday’s press conferences.
