Washington, D.C. – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) cheered news that President Donald Trump will address attendees via video at the 45th annual March for Life this Friday, January 19. The March draws hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans to Washington, D.C. each year near the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton rulings that legalized abortion on-demand in the United States.
SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser, who served as Chair of the Trump Pro-life Coalition during the 2016 campaign, said:
“President Trump’s video address to the March for Life is a crowning moment in a partnership that began before he was elected, when he made four essential promises to pro-life voters. In his first year in office, he and his administration have already gone farther than any administration in history to demonstrate his commitment to unborn children and their mothers. President Trump stands united with us and is leading the pro-life movement on to victory.
“This is a critical tipping point in pro-life advocacy. We are closer to ending abortion than we have ever been in the 45 years since Roe v. Wade, from the first March for Life when a few thousand brave citizens gathered in the immediate aftermath of that terrible ruling, to today when hundreds of thousands of women and men of every age and race come from all over the country to cry out for justice, backed by the President himself. Momentum is on the side of life and so is the Trump administration. We must persevere and take full advantage of this historic opportunity to enact policies that will save countless innocent lives.”

In 2017, Vice President Mike Pence and Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway became the highest-ranking government officials to speak at the March for Life, telling the crowd “Life is winning in America” and bringing a message of support from President Trump.
President Trump has made four specific commitments to the pro-life movement.
Susan B. Anthony List and its partner super PAC, Women Speak Out spent more than $18 million in the 2016 election cycle, knocking on more than 1.1 million doors in battleground states to defeat Hillary Clinton and maintain a pro-life Senate. SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion.
