State Legislation Would Save Lives Even if the Biden Admin Rolls Back FDA Safety Standards

Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) celebrated as the Oklahoma Senate passed legislation to enact state-level safeguards against the expansion of dangerous chemical abortion drugs. The Abortion-Inducing Drug Risk Protocol Act and the Abortion-Inducing Drug Certification Program Act now advance to the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

“Oklahoma is leading the nation in fighting the expansion of chemical abortion drugs,” said SBA List State Policy Director Sue Liebel. “Emboldened by a pro-abortion White House and Congress, the radical abortion lobby is pushing to turn every post office and pharmacy into an abortion center – leaving women to fend for themselves without medical supervision. This groundbreaking legislation would make Oklahoma one of the first states to implement and enforce its own safeguards on chemical abortion drugs, even if the Biden administration rolls back FDA safety standards. In addition to the threat to countless unborn children, it is critical to sound the alarm and inform citizens about the risks these dangerous drugs pose to women, which include infection, severe bleeding, incomplete abortion, or even death.

“We are grateful to State Senator Julie Daniels, a member of our National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus, for championing these lifesaving bills and look forward to seeing the strongly pro-life House of Representatives send them swiftly to the governor’s desk.”

SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
