Historic Class in the U.S. House Reaches 31 Women Strong

Washington, D.C. – Today U.S. Representative Julia Letlow (R-LA) was sworn in as the newest member of the 117th Congress after winning a special election last month to represent Louisiana’s 5th District. Letlow is the 31st pro-life woman to join a record-breaking class of newly-elected pro-life women in the House of Representatives.

The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) celebrated, saying:

“We are proud to see the historic cohort of pro-life women leaders in Congress continue to grow today as Julia Letlow is sworn in to serve the deeply pro-life state of Louisiana,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “She brings an indomitable spirit to Washington at a time when the voices of strong, compassionate pro-life women are more crucial than ever in the fight against abortion extremism. Emboldened by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Pelosi Democrats are shameless in their drive to expand abortion on demand through birth, paid for by taxpayers. SBA List warmly congratulates Julia, and we look forward to working with each of these inspiring pro-life congresswomen to defend unborn children and their mothers.”
