Pounds Will Fight Taxpayer Funding of Abortion & Protect Conscience Rights
Washington, D.C. – Today the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) announced its endorsement of Bunni Pounds for retiring Congressman Jeb Hensarling’s open seat in Texas’ fifth congressional district. Pounds is part of SBA List’s first round of endorsed candidates in the 2018 cycle.
“We are proud to endorse Bunni Pounds, a fearless pro-life champion who will fight for unborn children and their mothers in Congress,” said former U.S. Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs. “Bunni’s priorities include keeping taxpayer dollars out of the abortion industry and protecting the conscience rights of health care professionals who don’t want to participate in destroying innocent life. We need her passionate leadership in Washington.”
Bunni Pounds accepted the endorsement saying:
“I am honored to be endorsed by Susan B. Anthony List, a group that works tirelessly to elect pro-life leaders. It will be a privilege to represent Texas, a state that cherishes the right to life, and I will never stop fighting for the most innocent and vulnerable.”
Pounds is a small business owner and former staff member for Congressman Jeb Hensarling, who has endorsed Pounds in her run for Congress. Pounds and her husband are active members of their church and are involved in Christian ministry. She will face a primary race on March 6, 2018.
