Grassroots to Express Thanks for Manchin Keeping Biden-Harris Radical Abortion Agenda At Bay During WV Press Tour
Washington, D.C. – The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) will join state and local pro-life activists for a three-stop press tour in West Virginia to thank Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) for standing up for pro-life West Virginia values by opposing removal of the legislative filibuster. The events come on the heels of a six-figure campaign that included radio ads, digital ads, and grassroots phone calls.
SBA List’s Vice President of Government Affairs Marilyn Musgrave will speak during the tour, as will Tina Whittington, executive vice president of Students for Life of America; Tommy Valentine, national field director for Catholic Vote; and leaders from West Virginians for Life.
“We thank Senator Manchin for standing up to preserve the legislative filibuster, despite immense pressure from the pro-abortion radicals that run the Democratic Party. His strong stand on this issue is one the most consequential and courageous acts of his time in the U.S. Senate to protect West Virginia’s pro-life values,” said Musgrave. “Recent polling shows that West Virginia voters, like most Americans, reject the radical pro-abortion agenda of the Biden-Harris administration which includes expanding the Supreme Court, codifying Roe v. Wade, and forcing taxpayers to fund abortion at home and overseas. We stand with Senator Manchin as he sticks up for pro-life West Virginians in Washington and encourage him to stay strong.”
A recent poll conducted by Mark Blankenship Enterprises and released by SBA List finds that, by almost two to one, West Virginia voters oppose radical pro-abortion policies that could be imposed unilaterally if the U.S. Senate were to eliminate the legislative filibuster.
Key findings include:
- 64% of WV voters strongly oppose expanding the Supreme Court to add more justices.
- 62% of WV voters strongly oppose using taxpayer dollars to fund abortion in the U.S., and 64% strongly opposeusing American taxpayer dollars to promote abortion overseas.
- 75% of WV voters say it is very important that their U.S. senator does what is right for West Virginia, even if it means voting against their party.
