SBA List Working to Defeat Biden & Re-elect Pro-life President Trump
Washington, D.C. – Today presumed Democratic presidential nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden stated that abortion is “essential health care that cannot be delayed” during the COVID-19 pandemic. Biden’s statement was in response to a question during a virtual town hall in which former 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton endorsed him.
“Abortion is not health care and Joe Biden’s exploitation of the COVID-19 crisis to promote abortion on demand is shameful,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “Biden has once again proven that he stands for abortion on demand through the moment of birth, paid for by taxpayers. In doing so, he has not only aligned himself with the failed agenda of Hillary Clinton, which the American people soundly rejected in 2016 when they elected President Trump – a major political liability for him – he has raced further to the left than any nominee before him in his bid to appease the radical abortion lobby. Democrats used to call for abortion to be ‘safe, legal and rare,’ and now they deem abortion on demand at all costs ‘essential’ even during a pandemic. SBA List is working tirelessly to mobilize every pro-life voter in this crucial election, including pro-life Democrats and Independents alienated by the Democratic Party, to defeat Joe Biden and re-elect President Trump, the most pro-life president in history.”
Polling released by SBA List in June 2019 found that a majority (50%) of voters are less likely to support Joe Biden (35% strongly less likely to support) following his announcement that he supports using tax dollars to pay for abortions after decades of opposing taxpayer funding of abortion. This includes 55% of Independent voters who say they are less likely to support him.
Additionally, a Marist poll earlier this year shows 44% of rank-and-file Democrats and 62% of Independents want to vote for a candidate who supports common-ground limits on abortion.
The SBA List canvassing team has visited nearly 830,000 homes and made more than 650,000 live voter phone calls this election cycle across the battleground states of Arizona, Florida, and North Carolina. The team aims to reach four million voters overall before Election Day. The comprehensive effort will include boots on the ground, voter contact mail, phone calls, and digital ads, and is part of the organizations’ overall $52 million budget for the 2020 cycle.
