Anti-abortion group targets Sen. Houck

Somebody else is after Virginia Sen. Edd Houck (D-Spotsylvania).
A month after a group promoting “the Christian worldview in politics” declared its intention to defeat Houck, another anti-abortion organization said it was targeting the Senate Health and Education Committee chairman.
The Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund announced Wednesday that it “will spend $25,000 on a campaign to expose incumbent State Senator Edd Houck’s extreme record on abortion.”
“Senator Houck has been a consistent ally to the pro-abortion movement, blocking pro-life legislation from even reaching the floor for debate,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the fund. “Defeating Senator Houck is a top priority for the SBA List Candidate Fund and it is our hope that our targeted media program, including newspaper and radio ad campaigns, will encourage voters to replace him with Bryce Reeves, a committed pro-life candidate.”
Houck’s campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The fund also announced endorsements and financial support for four Republicans running for Senate: Bryce Reeves, Houck’s Republican challenger; Caren Merrick in the 31st District; Patricia Phillips in the 33rd; and incumbent Sen. Jill Vogel of the 27th.
