This week, coverage of SBA List’s “Stop Abortion Funding” campaign continued, even gaining notice by some pro-abortion publications who are beginning to see the two bills promoted by the campaign – the bi-partisan “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” sponsored by Reps. Chris Smith and Dan Lipinski and the “Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act,” sponsored by Rep. Mike Pence – as a real threat.
On Friday, a day after the Ohio Elections Commission accepted the withdrawal of his complaint against the SBA List, defeated Rep. Steve Driehaus filed a federal defamation lawsuit against the SBA List, citing “deprivation of livelihood.” The SBA List will file its answer to his case on January 31, 2011. Some media who had been following the story wrote on this latest development while some new reporters picked up on the story for the first time.
