This week brought more coverage of last Thursday’s academic panel entitled “A Conversation on Pro-Life Feminism,” continuing the debate over whether pro-abortion women have the monopoly on the feminist label or whether authentic feminism is pro-life, as the early suffragettes believed.
This Thursday, the Susan B. Anthony List also launched its “Life Speaking Out Campaign,” a two-pronged effort aimed at encouraging House GOP leadership to make protecting women and the unborn a priority in its legislative blueprint expected after Labor Day. The campaign included a website for pro-life activists to lobby House GOP leadership (www.LifeSpeakingOut.com) and an encouraging letter to leadership signed by SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
In addition, media began taking notice of a new wave of support for come-from-behind SBA List-endorsed Delaware U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell. Several stories appeared, likening factors in her primary campaign against favored candidate Mike Castle to those that helped surprise Alaska GOP primary winner Joe Miller defeat incumbent Senator Lisa Murkowski in August.
