According to the Washington Times, the Obama administration has reinstated U.S. support for the controversial United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The UNFPA has been closely tied to China’s ‘one-child only’ policy. The UNPFA exists to promote family planning and women’s rights- specifically, their access to reproductive services. However a 2001 report done by the Population Research Institute (PRI), a pro-life group, found that UNFPA money was being used to enforce China ‘one-child policy’. A 2002 report done by the Department of State confirmed this connection. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell stated in a letter to Congress that the Chinese government often used computers or other resources donated by the UNPFA to fund their pro-abortion policy.
