Katie Shaw: A Fierce Defender of the Unborn

When Katie’s mother discovered her daughter had Down syndrome at five months pregnant, that didn’t stop her from bringing her beautiful baby girl into the world. Katie lives a happy, full life, and has worked to defend the lives of her peers with disabilities. A resident of Indiana, Katie advocated for the Discrimination Abortion ban that was signed into law by then-Gov. Mike Pence. Katie is thankful to her parents, who “with the help of doctors, focused on what would help me have a wonderful life.”
