Biden-Schumer Democrats Will Stop at Nothing to Block Popular Protections for Unborn Children, Mothers

Washington, D.C. – In response to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) push to hold a vote on H.R. 3755, better known as the Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act, the national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) blasted pro-abortion Democrats:

“Pro-abortion Democrats will stop at nothing – even threatening judges and destroying foundational American institutions – to impose their radical agenda nationwide,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “The Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act would enshrine a virtually unlimited abortion ‘right’ in federal law and block common ground pro-life laws around the country, including limits on late-term abortions when unborn babies feel pain, bans on lethal discrimination abortions, and many more. It failed in the Senate once already this year because it is extreme and deeply unpopular. The overwhelming majority of Americans support limits on abortion, but Biden-Schumer Democrats who call abortion ‘sacred’ want to block them.

“The stakes of the Dobbs decision and midterm elections are higher than ever for countless unborn children, their mothers, and America. While the abortion lobby led by Planned Parenthood spends $150 million to elect pro-abortion Democrats, our pro-life ground team is working to reach eight million battleground-state voters at their homes to educate them and hold extremists accountable.”

H.R. 3755, better known as the Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act, failed to pass in the Senate in February. Backed by the Biden administration, this legislation would effectively codify a right to abortion on demand until birth into federal law and nullify pro-life laws enacted by democratically elected legislators in states across the country. SBA List announced that it would score the vote and issued a memo detailing the bill’s extreme provisions. In addition, SBA List’s research arm Charlotte Lozier Institute has provided   of the legislation.

In Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case involving a Mississippi law that limits abortion after 15 weeks, the Supreme Court will address whether all pre-viability abortion limits are unconstitutional. A decision is expected in the spring or summer of 2022. Science shows unborn children can feel pain by 15 weeks if not earlier.

Public opinion polls consistently show that the strong majority of Americans reject abortion extremism.

SBA List is a network of 900,000 pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
