Former Rep. Marilyn Musgrave Travels to AL to Endorse Longtime Leader week of Roe v. Wade Anniversary
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Today the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund, a national pro-life political action committee, announced its endorsement of Martha Roby in her campaign for reelection to Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District.
This is the group’s first endorsement of the 2016 election cycle. In the 2014 election cycle, Susan B. Anthony List and its partners, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office.
Former Representative Marilyn Musgrave, Vice President of Government Affairs for Susan B. Anthony List, will join Rep. Roby at 10:00 a.m. CT this morning at Roby campaign headquarters (505 Cloverdale Road, Suite 101, Montgomery, AL), to announce the endorsement and discuss the importance of defending the unborn.
“Since her election in 2011, Congresswoman Martha Roby has been an unwavering voice for unborn children and women. From cosponsoring and advocating for pro-life legislation, to speaking out on the House floor and in the media, Rep. Roby has distinguished herself as a thoughtful, passionate leader,” said former Rep. Marilyn Musgrave. “We are proud to endorse her re-election campaign and look forward to her return to Congress where we know she will continue to champion pro-life, pro-woman policies.”
The endorsement comes days before the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion on demand in the United States. Roby has been a staunch pro-life advocate during her tenure in Congress and was recently named by Newsmax among the top 100 most influential pro-life figures in the country.
Rep. Roby frequently speaks out in favor of greater legal protections for unborn babies and against the abortion industry. Roby was the first to speak out on the House floor to raise awareness about Planned Parenthood organ harvesting and trafficking, and fought to reallocate taxpayer funding from Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, to comprehensive health care centers.
The Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office.
