Press Conference this Friday in Greenville, South Carolina ahead of Forum

Greenville, SCPro-life women leaders from South Carolina will hold a press conference Friday, February 12th, at 11:00 AM to sound the alarm about Donald Trump and urge Republican voters to support other pro-life candidates in the primary on February 20th.

The women leaders, who have not endorsed any candidate individually or collectively, will announce an open letter to pro-life voters in South Carolina listing concerns about Mr. Trump’s past statements regarding Supreme Court Justices, his openness to a pro-abortion vice presidential pick, and his treatment of women.

What: Pro-life Women Sound the Alarm on Donald Trump

Who:

Rep. Donna Hicks, South Carolina District 37

Laura Beth Kirsop, Chairman of the Upstate Young Republicans & Pro-life Advocate

Marilyn Musgrave, Former Congresswoman, VP of Government Affairs, Susan B. Anthony List

Tonya Shellnutt, South Carolina State Director, Concerned Women for America

Rep. Wendy Nanney, South Carolina District 22

When:  Friday, February 12th at 11:00 AM Eastern

Where:  The Rodeheaver Auditorium lobby, Bob Jones University, Greenville, South Carolina

Last month a similar coalition letter signed by Iowa and national pro-life women leaders to Republican caucus-goers contributed to a significant slowdown in momentum for Trump ahead of caucus day. According to entrance polling, Trump garnered the support of just five percent of caucus-goers who want a candidate who “shares your values.”

The press conference will take place prior to the Faith & Family Forum at Bob Jones University on Friday, where several presidential candidates are scheduled to speak, including Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Governor Jeb Bush (R-Florida), and Dr. Ben Carson.

The Susan B. Anthony List and its Political Action Committees, the SBA List Candidate Fund and Women Speak Out PAC, spent $16.71 million in the 2014 election cycle to defeat pro-abortion incumbents and elect pro-life candidates to federal and statewide office. The SBA List is dedicated to pursuing policies and electing candidates who will reduce and ultimately end abortion. To that end, the SBA List emphasizes the education, promotion, mobilization, and election of pro-life women.  The SBA List is a network of more than 465,000 pro-life Americans nationwide.
