“We are thankful to President Trump and our pro-life Congressional leaders for ensuring the CARES ACT includes vital pro-life protections to ensure that the massive funding streams cannot be used as slush funds for the big abortion industry led by Planned Parenthood.
“Running to the courts to plead for privileged treatment is the modus operandi of the big abortion industry led by Planned Parenthood. Suing to carry out abortions during a time of national emergency, when so many Americans are making heroic sacrifices, is the latest example of their extreme disregard for women’s health and safety and for the common good,” said SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser.
“While we are in a hectic race to save lives, Planned Parenthood and other powers in the abortion industry remain insistent on taking the lives of innocent unborn children. While surgery centers postpone elective and diagnostic procedures, abortion centers are churning out surgical and chemical abortions and putting women, especially the poor, at risk.
“While most of the country is taking extreme care and making real sacrifices to save lives, Planned Parenthood is doing the opposite – defying lawful directives and continuing to put abortion and profits before health and safety. In doing so, they are also contributing to deficits in our nation’s supply of personal protective equipment. In addition, through surgical and chemical abortion, they are putting women at risk for complications that will further overwhelm hospital emergency rooms during this already trying time,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony List.
“Every last Democrat candidate for president supports abortion on demand, up until the moment of birth, paid for by taxpayers. They want to end the longstanding, bipartisan Hyde Amendment and oppose compassionate measures to protect babies born-alive after failed abortions. Their abortion radicalism isn’t only reprehensible, is a major liability for them at the ballot box,” said Mallory Quigley, national spokeswoman for Susan B. Anthony List and Women Speak Out PAC’s independent expenditure campaign.
“Congress did right by the American people by successfully applying the Hyde Amendment to funds in the coronavirus supplemental bill. This is vital to continue longstanding precedent that health-related funds are always life-affirming.
