Michelle Fischbach


Michelle Fischbach is a life-long resident of Minnesota and long-time member of the State Senate, where she served from 1996 to 2018. During her tenure in the Senate she became the first woman to serve as president of the Senate. In 2018, when former Lt. Governor Tina Smith was appointed to an open senate seat, Fischbach became the 49th Lt. Governor. She and her husband Scott have two children and five grandchildren. They live near Paynesville, MN.
