Margaret Dayton

“A nurse, mother of five, and active member of SBA List’s National Pro-Life Women’s Caucus, Senator Dayton has fought long and hard to protect unborn girls from the lethal discrimination of sex-selection abortion and to stop tax dollars from funding America’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood."

State Senator Margaret Dayton is the longest-serving female legislator from Utah, first elected in 1996, with over ten years in the Utah House and ten years in the Utah Senate. She has been a consistent leader on life in the Utah House and Senate, promoting legislation that would end sex-selective abortions and policies that would end funding of abortion providers such as Planned Parenthood. Senator Dayton is a long-time, active member of the Susan B. Anthony List's National Pro-Life Women's Caucus.

Prior to her tenure in the state legislature, Senator Dayton worked for several years as an obstetrical nurse, and her husband is an OB-GYN. She and her family reside in Orem, Utah.
