Chuck Grassley


Biography

Grassley was first elected to the U.S. Senate in 1980 and is one of two active farmers in the upper chamber today. During his time in the Senate, he has maintained a 100% pro-life voting record and has an A+ on SBA List's National Pro-Life Scorecard. He is a co-sponsor of many major pro-life bills, including the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, and the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. While serving as Judiciary Committee chairman, he led the charge to investigate Planned Parenthood’s role in the harvest and sale of baby body parts. He also co-signed a congressional amicus brief in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, in which the U.S. Supreme Court will address the constitutionality of pre-viability limits on abortion.

Grassley and his wife Barbara are members of Prairie Lakes Church Cedar Falls and have five adult children.
