Values Voters Bus Tour In the News

From August 9-13th, the Susan B. Anthony List joined Family Research Council Action (FRC Action) and the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) for the Value Voters Bus Tour across Iowa. The Values Voters bus made 22 stops, covering 1,305 miles in just four days (see the original schedule). On the tour, the SBA List got the word out to straw poll and caucus goers on which candidates have taken the Pro-Life Presidential Leadership Pledge and can be counted on as a strong and vocal leader in defending human life.

The tour began in Des Moines on August 8th and ended on August 13 at the Ames Straw Poll. Traditionally the straw poll has been a critical test in determining the organizational strength and momentum behind each candidate seeking the Republican nomination for President.

Joining SBA List's former Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave was FRC Action's Connie Mackey and Tony Perkins, NOM's Chris Plante, Iowa Right to Life's Jennifer Bown, Rep. Steve King (R-IA), Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX), along with presidential candidates Gov. Tim Pawlenty, Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, Sen. Rick Santorum and Rep. Michele Bachmann.
