Obama Administration Announces "Update" to HHS Mandate nomatterhowsmall Last week the Obama Administration proposed a new regulation concerning the HHS mandate forcing religious employers and other groups – even pro-life groups – to cover abortion-inducing drugs in their insurance plans. The Obama Administration and its allies are trying to sell the new regulation as a “compromise.” But the regulation is nothing more than an accounting gimmick, and the truth is that Americans of conscience will still be forced to participate in coverage of abortion-inducing drugs. This latest fig-leaf “compromise” is unacceptable – religious and moral freedom is not up for negotiation. There must be no religious ‘test’ by the government as to who, and what type of entities, are entitled to a conscience. Government policy under our constitution, history, and statutory law has recognized the right of citizens to be free from government compulsion of conscience on such fundamental matters. The SBA List believes the only acceptable outcome is the complete repeal of the HHS mandate and the restoration of a thriving marketplace where Americans can choose health care coverage consistent with their beliefs. Feb 6, 2013 New Book: What to Expect When No One's Expecting nomatterhowsmall This month, The Weekly Standard writer Jonathan Last is releasing a book entitled "What to Expect When No One's Expecting," about America's growing demographic crisis. Last explains that despite the widespread myth that the planet is becoming overpopulated, population growth worldwide has actually been declining over the last two generations. Startlingly, American women are reproducing at about the same rate as Chinese women who have been suffered coerced and even forced abortions and sterilizations in the face of the one-child policy for more than three decades. Last recently did an interview on CBS News and it is clear from the interviewers questions that many Americans remain fearful of the myth of overpopulation, even when presented with the hard evidence that shows population growth declining. In the book, Last examines how population decline affects nations socially and economically. Jan 31, 2013 Action Alert: Encourage Pro-life Officials at North Dakota State University babysavingintern Recently the North Dakota State University froze a $1.2 million federal grant it had received because the grant requires the university to team up with Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion provider, to implement a sex education program under Obamacare. University officials are concerned that accepting the grant could potentially be a violation of state law, which forbids taxpayer funding of abortion businesses such as Planned Parenthood. Now, Planned Parenthood and their allies are attacking the University for freezing the grant. Take Action: Encourage officials at North Dakota State University to stand strong and reject the partnership with Planned Parenthood, America’s abortion giant. Planned Parenthood is the nation’s largest abortion business, performing almost 1 million abortions in the last three years alone. It received $534 million in taxpayer funding last year and currently boasts $87.4 million excess revenue, all while 91% of its pregnancy services accounted for abortion. North Dakota State University must stand strong and reject this grant calling on the school to partner with Planned Parenthood!
