The pro-abortion crowd never misses a chance to push their agenda. Now, they’re even using a pro-life athlete’s fame to raise money for pro-abortion groups.
LifeSiteNews reports that a blogger for the Abortion Gang blog is calling for readers to donate five or ten dollars to a pro-abortion group every time Tim Tebow throws a touchdown. Tebow has faced many attacks for his defense of the unborn, but this one is particularly outrageous because it attempts to taint his successes by using them to advance something contrary to his beliefs: the killing of innocent human beings. Bizarrely, the blogger refers to this as a way to “support” Tim Tebow.
Advancing an agenda directly opposed to someone’s views is hardly a way of showing support for that person. But it’s unlikely that this pledge will harm Tebow. Instead, its effects, if any, will be to hurt women and their unborn children by encouraging a “choice” that will only damage one and kill the other.
Fortunately, this sort of thing also has a potential to backfire, and it will if pro-lifers step forward to show real support for Tebow and all those fighting for sanctity of life. In one response, a Facebook group has already been started to encourage people to counter the pledge by donating at least $11 to a local pro-life charity – outgiving the pro-abortion pledge by one dollar.
The Abortion Gang post concludes: “I figure this is indeed the best way to enjoy football, support Tim Tebow (more touchdowns, mannn!!!), and give , give, give to pro-choice organizations earning little to no glory, yet desperately in need of funds.” As pro-lifers, let’s view this challenge as motivation to donate our time or money to a pro-life group or pregnancy care center. That way, we can enjoy football, truly support Tim Tebow, and help those who are not looking to earn glory, but to save lives.
