Meet the Inspirational Pro-Life Women Leading for LIFE

From the early suffragists—including Susan B. Anthony—to those serving in office today, women have served at the forefront of the cause to protect innocent lives from abortion. On this page you can learn more about just a few of the many courageous pro-life women in office who boldly lead the movement to defend the rights of unborn babies and their moms.

Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers is a tireless advocate for the dignity of every human being, earning her an A+ rating on Susan B. Anthony List’s National Pro-life Scorecard. First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2004, she serves as the representative for the state’s 5th Congressional District.

Cathy is the only woman in Congress to give birth three times while serving. Her eldest child, Cole, has Down syndrome, and she is a fierce advocate for the rights of people with Down syndrome, born and unborn.

The importance of protecting life is deeply personal to Representative Kat Cammack, whose mother was pressured by her own family to abort her. She chose life, and now Kat is bringing to Congress the voice of the rising pro-life generation, many of whom are direct survivors of the Roe v. Wade regime of abortion on demand and understand well the human toll of extreme abortion policies.

Kat serves as a member of Congress representing Florida’s 3rd district, where her leadership for the right to life has earned her an A+ rating on Susan B. Anthony List’s National Pro-Life Scorecard.

Representative Jaime Herrera Beutler represents Washington’s 3rd District, where her pro-life leadership has earned her an A+ rating on Susan B. Anthony List’s National Pro-Life Scorecard. She co-founded the bipartisan Maternity Care Caucus, the first of its kind in Congress, and has been a champion for maternal and child health.

Jaime’s daughter Abigail was diagnosed in utero with Potter Syndrome, a condition her parents were told was 100% fatal. But thanks to an experimental treatment, Abigail became the first baby to survive childbirth with no kidneys.

How Rep. Herrera Beutler saved her baby

Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler was the ninth lawmaker in history to have a baby while serving in Congress. That alone would have been a good reason to tell her story. Karen Greenhalgh serves in the Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 85th district. When she was only 15 years old, Karen became a victim of rape. For years, she felt she had no choice except to live with the fear, the shame and guilt following the assault. However, years later she became a volunteer at the pro-life Tidewater Pregnancy Resource Center where she was able to focus on helping women in similar circumstances to her own and providing them with the resources she wished were made available to her at the time of her sexual assault.

Susan B. Anthony List’s partner Women Speak Out PAC Virginia – 2021 supported Karen in her race, in which she defeated the incumbent State representative who had voted to remove informed consent requirements for mothers seeking an abortion. Karen has pledged to fight to reinstate these protections for women.
