Dear Congressman Towns,

A recent Government Accountability Office report shows that Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, reported spending $657.1 million in federal funds from 2002 to 2008, despite receiving over $2.3 billion tax dollars in government grants and programs during that same period.

That means $1.6 billion of American taxpayer dollars are unaccounted for.

I respectfully request that the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform immediately investigate this discrepancy in use of government funds by Planned Parenthood Federation of America. The American people must know where their money is being spent. It is an outrage that an organization receiving such an excess of funds cannot report what our nation’s tax dollars are being spent on, especially when the money may be being used for services that defy the conscience of the majority of Americans—who do not support the use of federal funds for abortion.

Please investigate Planned Parenthood’s use of taxpayer money, and demand accountability from the largest abortion provider in America.
