Indian Health Care Authorization
In the 110th Congress, the Senate passed a reauthorization of the long expired Indian Health Care program that contained an amendment by Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) banning the funding of abortion. Fearing a similar ban would be successful, pro-abortion leadership in the House did not consider the bill. With stronger pro-abortion majorities, it is expected that pro-abortion leadership will move quickly on this bill in the upcoming 111th Congress. |
