Taxpayer-Funded Abortions for Federal Employees
The Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program currently does not cover abortions for federal employees and their depedents due to restrictions of the Treasury Department Appropriations Funding. From 1983 to 1993, pro-lifers annually banned federal employees from receiving abortion coverage. In 1993 and 1994, coverage from abortion was reinstated by a pro-abortion marjority. The ban was reinstated in 1995 and has remained into effect since then. The pro-abortion lobby has made it a goal to reinstate abortion coverage under FEHB given the new pro-abortion majority in Congress. |
