Weldon Amendment – Federal Refusal Clause
The Weldon Amendment, also known as the Federal Refusal Clause, prohibits federal funds from being used by any state or local government that forces healthcare providers to provide, refer, or pay for abortions. This amendment was passed in 2005. The pro-abortion lobby is urging president-elect Obama to omit this language from his first proposed budget. |
