Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act of 2008 (H.R. 7141)

Bill Summary

After President Bush vetoed the Stem Cell Research Act of 2007, a new bill was introduced in 2008 that is expected to be considered or used as the blueprint for an executive order by President-elect Obama. This bill would allow for federal funds to be used for the destruction of human embryos for scientific research and would roll back all restrictions put on embryonic stem-cell research by the Bush administration.
