Joy Yearout is the Communications Director for the Susan B. Anthony List. She is responsible for executing the organization’s national communications strategy in both traditional and new media outlets. She conducts media relations, drafts donor communications, and coordinates new media outreach, including SBA List communications on the organization website, SuzyB blog, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. As Director of Political Affairs, Joy oversees the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund endorsement process. She conducts political research and assists in fundraising efforts for SBA List candidates. In the 2008 election cycle, the Susan B. Anthony List Candidate Fund raised over $1 million for pro-life candidates for Congress and statewide office.

Prior to joining the Susan B. Anthony List, Joy served as Chief of Staff to State Representatives Robert Gosselin and Rick Baxter in the Michigan State Legislature. Joy currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for Students for Life of Michigan, a non-profit organization representing pro-life college students. Joy is originally from Belleville, Michigan and is a graduate of James Madison College at Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Theory and Constitutional Democracy. After pro-life politics, Joy’s second love is international affairs. She holds her Master of Arts degree in Security Policy Studies from George Washington University, where she specialized in U.S. National Security Policy and Transnational Security Issues. She resides in Falls Church, Virginia and attends Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church.
