SBA List President Urges McCain to Choose Pro-Life VP

Washington –  Today, in response to speculation that Senator John McCain may choose a pro-choice vice presidential candidate, the President of the Susan B. Anthony List urges McCain to choose a pro-life vice presidential candidate:

“There is a strong pro-life trend prevailing across America, especially among women,” said Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser. “In fact, many candidates – including the extremely pro-abortion Barack Obama – are seeking to exploit that trend by presenting more moderate positions on abortion. If John McCain wants to win, he needs to be the only authentic pro-life candidate.  Choosing a pro-life vice presidential candidate will earn the support of the pro-life women voters he needs to prevail on Election Day.”

In addition to extensive fundraising for pro-life candidates, the Susan B. Anthony List will implement “When Women Vote, Pro-Life Candidates Win!”— a sophisticated voter mobilization program that will target over one million pro-life women voters across seven battleground states. The Susan B. Anthony List plans to invest over $6 million in its 2008 election efforts.
