Nikki Haley | South Carolina Governor

“I believe every life has a value and is blessed by God – my husband was adopted and my pro-life convictions stem from the fact I feel the blessings of that value every day knowing someone chose life for him. I see it every day in my two children as I watch them grow. My hope is that we continue to encourage and work towards educating that value of life to everyone, “says Nikki Haley.  Being elected the 116th governor of South Carolina in 2010, Haley has signed multiple pro-life bills. These include the Penalties for Harming an Unborn Child/Fetus, Pre-Abortion Ultrasound, and the 24 hour Waiting Period for Abortions Act.

Before being elected as the first female governor of South Carolina, Haley represented Lexington County in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2010. Haley took part in many boards and foundations such as the Board of Directors of the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, and the Lexington Medical Foundation. Haley was also elected Chairman of the Freshman Caucus in 2005 and reelected as majority whip in the South Carolina General Assembly. She is married to Michael Haley and they share two children, Rena and Nalin.
