Sue Myrick

Sue Myrick was first elected to Congress in 1994 to represent North Carolina’s Ninth District.  Before her time in Congress, she served on the Charlotte City Council and was a two-term mayor of the City of Charlotte. Sue remains the first and only female mayor in Charlotte history.  She is currently a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee and House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Congresswoman Myrick has co-sponsored the RU-486 Suspension and Review Act, Partial Birth Abortion Ban, the Child Custody Protection Act, the Weldon-Stupak Human Cloning Prohibition Act, the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, the Informed Choice Act, and the Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act.

Sue Myrick is one of the most tireless champions for our cause. She consistently speaks on the floor in defense of women and the unborn. She even introduced a resolution in Congress to honor the pro-life legacy of Susan B. Anthony.

Sue is married to Ed and has 2 children, 3 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren!
